Bird Boy

I've always been able to fly in my dreams.  It's come in handy whenever I needed to get somewhere fast, or (usually) to get away from bad people who wanted to harm me or worse.  Sometimes when I couldn't get up enough momentum, they'd hang on my feet, trying to pull me back down to the ground.  In such cases, I'd usually wake up, then, or the dream would simply fade to black.  As a child, I used to fantasize about being able to have this flying skill I had in my dreams.  There were so many times it would have come in handy.  :)  I've been doodling some Bird Boys, and Bird Girls lately; they have the skill, so they're able to walk around free of the silly fears which plagued my young school days.

ninon .... wow, I so thank you!
Beth ..... I love that: Surreal but with charisma! I think Bird Boy likes that, too!
Janice .... he is drawn in graphite. I scanned him into the computer and I paint digitally. Maybe I should show my steps sometime....

Nice textures, colors and line work.

I would always be flying great in my dream until I got over a bull pen or evil dogs with huge teeth appeared on the scene and then would flap to no avail as I slowly sunk into peril. Gotta love childhood dreams.

Hmm, that never happened to me, Jim... Once I was up, that was it; I was good. Sorry to hear your version! and this is only your childhood dream? I still fly in mine!

I can only fly in my dreams if I can manage to look at my hands while dreaming. Weird. Love Mr. Bird:)

I think your flying in the dreams is called "astral projection", I used to fall in my dreams, back into my body. It always woke me up.
Love your pictures! :)

Hmmm... astral projection.....I will have to use the correct term then!
